MANGING PARTNER
Karan Chahal
Founder & Principal
Karan Chahal is a commercial and entertainment lawyer and member of the Law Society of Ontario, advising founders, investors, and creative industry stakeholders on transactional structuring, governance frameworks, and strategic risk allocation.
His professional experience includes work within Bay Street practice environments, contributing to complex corporate and commercial transactions. He has advised on and contributed to commercial transactions valued in excess of $5,000,000 and has experience across mergers and acquisitions in multiple sectors. This institutional foundation informs the structured, execution-focused approach applied across LSC Law mandates.
He has also served in-house within the music industry as a record label executive, and commonly advises clients on recording, publishing and distribution agreements, as well as intellectual property management. Karan's prior experience as a musician provides sector fluency in rights-based transactions and commercial negotiations.
Karan serves as a board member of Young Music Professionals (YMP), contributing to governance oversight and strategic development within Canada’s creative industry, and holds academic credentials from Mount Royal University and the University of Leicester, followed by legal education at Osgoode Hall Law School and completion of the National Committee on Accreditation requirements.
